If you’ve ever watched The Traitors and thought I’d be so good at that — or yelled at the telly because the Faithful banished the wrong person AGAIN — you now have somewhere to prove it. In Cornwall. Round an actual table, with actual people lying to your actual face.
The Sleuth Society is our game night for people who love deception, deduction and the moment a room full of adults gasps out loud. We host it here at Locked In Cornwall in Camborne, inside a venue that was built for suspense.
What’s a social deduction game?
You’ve probably already played one without knowing the name. The Traitors is one. Among Us is one. Werewolf, if you went to the right sleepovers, is one.
The recipe: everyone gets a secret role. Most players are good; a few are secretly working against the group. The good team has to work out who the liars are using nothing but conversation, logic and gut feeling — while the liars bluff, misdirect and pick people off. It’s part puzzle, part theatre, part psychological warfare between friends. No board, no dice-luck, no reading required. Just people, and what people do under suspicion.
Played live, it’s electric.
Why we host it in an escape room venue
Every other game night like this in the UK runs out of a pub back room or a community hall, under strip lighting, next to the fruit machine. Ours happens inside an escape room venue — a building whose entire job is atmosphere. The setting does half the storytelling before anyone’s drawn a role.
We’re also, as far as we can tell, the only venue in Cornwall running nights like this at all. First mover advantage; welcome to it.
What we play
Our flagship game is Blood on the Clocktower — the social deduction game that’s taken over the tabletop world and gets described to newcomers as “The Traitors, but live”. Sessions run 2 to 3 hours for 7 to 20 players, guided by a host called the Storyteller. Complete beginners are genuinely welcome; the game was designed for them.
More games will join the programme as the Society grows. Suggestions from members are actively encouraged.
Who it’s for
Adults who like games, mysteries or being right; groups of friends who want something beyond the pub; Traitors evangelists; board gamers; and anyone who has ever kept a secret and enjoyed it. Come as a group or on your own — solo players are how a Society grows, and you’ll be lying confidently to new friends within the hour.
Businesses: a private Sleuth Society night is spectacular for teams — see corporate events.

Upcoming sessions are listed on our Eventbrite page — nights run at least monthly, usually twice a month, on Tuesday or Thursday evenings at 8pm, with early-bird prices when you book ahead. Want the dates as they drop? They land on the Eventbrite collection first — follow it there.
