Night falls on Ravenswood Bluff. A demon walks among you, wearing a friend’s face. By day the town debates, accuses and votes to execute the person it suspects most. By night, the demon kills. If the town finds the demon in time, good wins. If the demon whittles the town down first — well. You should have listened to the librarian.
That’s Blood on the Clocktower, and The Sleuth Society hosts it right here in Camborne — the only regular game in Cornwall.
What actually happens on the night
Between 7 and 20 players sit in a circle (the sweet spot is 10 to 15). A host called the Storyteller runs the game: they know everything, reveal nothing, and quietly steer the drama. Everyone gets a secret role — villagers with strange and useful abilities, outsiders with problems, minions serving the demon, and the demon itself.
Days are for talk: claims, counterclaims, alliances, betrayals and the vote. Nights are for the demon’s work. The game builds to reveals that make grown adults shriek, and no two games are ever remotely alike.
A session runs 2 to 3 hours depending on player count. It flies.
“The Traitors, but live” — accurate?
Mostly, yes — same hidden roles, same accusations at the round table, same delicious paranoia. Two upgrades though: in Clocktower, dead players stay in the game (ghosts keep whispering and get a final vote), so nobody spends the evening watching from the sofa. And every player has a unique ability, so you’re never just a Faithful making guesses — you have information, and the demon knows it.
If you can survive breakfast at the castle, you can play this. If you’d have won The Traitors, come prove it.
Never played? Perfect.
Most people at our tables started as complete beginners. The Storyteller teaches everything before the first night falls, the beginner script (Trouble Brewing, for those who know) is built for first-timers, and confusion is a valid strategy anyway. Do not read the rules beforehand. Arriving clueless is arguably an advantage — nobody suspects the person still asking what a Ravenkeeper is.

Questions people ask
Do I need to know the game? No. The Storyteller teaches you on the night, and the beginner edition exists precisely for new players.
Is it scary? No — it’s a demon-themed party game, not a horror experience. The only screams are the “I KNEW it was you” kind.
How many people do I need? Just yourself. Groups welcome too — bring your escape room team and see who cracks under a different kind of pressure.
Can we book a private night? Yes — private and corporate Sleuth Society nights are absolutely available, and for work teams it’s a genuinely different kind of team night; see corporate events.
