Planning a hen do is a diplomatic mission. The bride wants everyone together; the group chat wants seventeen different things; and at least one hen has quietly vetoed anything involving a sash. You need the bit of the weekend where everyone — the uni friends, the cousins, the mother-in-law-to-be — is actually doing something together.

Why hens love an escape room
It’s active without being exhausting, competitive without being sporty, and hilarious without anyone needing a drink first (though it works beautifully as the sober start before the evening gets going). Under pressure, true personalities emerge — and there is no better pre-wedding entertainment than discovering which bridesmaid becomes a sergeant major when there’s a countdown involved.
It also photographs brilliantly. The post-game team photo, mid-celebration, tends to be the picture the group chat crowns.
How to run a hen party here
- Groups of 2 to 7 fit in one room. Most hen parties are bigger — all three rooms run at once (up to 21 players), so split into teams and race; our scoring matrix ranks the teams fairly even when the sizes differ. Bride’s team versus bridesmaids’ team is traditional, and the losers owe the first round.
- Which room? Pasty Escape is the hen favourite — funny, loud and Cornish to its bones. The Smoke House Curse suits a hen group with something to prove.
- When? A late-morning or early-afternoon game slots perfectly before lunch, spa, or the evening’s main event. We’re 20 minutes from Truro and easy to build a day around.
- Cost: from £20 per person — a full room of 7 is £140.
